What you will learn

This masterclass is a unique chance to experience a session with Senior Story Artist, Kayvon Darabi-Fard. Currently based and working in Dublin, Ireland, he also teaches at The Animation Workshop as part of the Storyboard Professional course.

The masterclass serves as an introduction to board-driven storyboarding practice, a scenario in which Storyboard Artists do not always work with a script, but instead work with prompts, log-lines, notes and sketches to fully develop fleshed out sequences and story ideas - through the practice of storyboarding.

For those who are less experienced in storyboards, there will also be a brief introduction to the tools and rules of storyboarding to get started.

The masterclass combines theory and hands-on practice, starting with a general overview of the fundamental practice of storyboarding as such and then further delving into the approach to board-driven storyboarding. After a short break, the participants will get to try their hands at a fun and social board-driven storyboarding exercise, with the opportunity to pitch their storyboards to those attending.

The masterclass is rounded off by Kayvon sharing valuable industry insights and a Q&A session thereafter.

The masterclass will happen entirely online.
