  • About

Human Impact - 7-year initiative for sustainability, social responsibility and communicative innovation.

Under Human Impact, the Centre, based on the UN's 17 World Goals, will bring together authorities, scientists, entrepreneurs, companies, civil communities and artists, to work together on selected climate and environmental communicative challenges. The initiative will focus on the dissemination of facts, positive opportunities, effective communication and imagining solutions to bring change, rather than dystopian scenarios, fake news and fear. With different perspectives on contemporary climate and environmental agendas, we develop stories that attract attention and will cause businesses, consumers, politicians and citizens to change their behavior or take action. The goal is to improve our individual human footprint on nature, through the necessary knowledge-based behavioral change.

Twenty-first century humans seem to have forgotten the dependence on our planet's intricate and complex ecosystem. Now is the time to act, disrupt and change perceptions and behaviours, not from a standpoint as polarized ecowarriors, driven by dystopian despair, but by our hope and belief that our own actions, as individuals and societies, can have a crucial impact on a sustainable future for all life on Earth. It is extremely important that future generations carry motivation, ambition and drive to uphold the idea of sustainable development.

On Monday, September 23, the centre invited young students from Viborg for an international teaching day and Human Impact-Hackathon – "from climate knowledge to climate action". How do we create shared narratives that can make the whole of society realize that we need to relieve the pressure on the planet's fine-tuned ecosystems through more sustainable behavior.

    Project Partners : Plastic Change

    Plastic Change Plastic Change
Plastic Change is a Danish environmental organisation with an ambitious international aim that works hard to break the growing curve of plastic waste. Plastic is everywhere – on land and at sea. Three generations of plastic consumption have left its mark. Only a small part is recycled or destroyed. The rest lies in nature for hundreds of years. Plastic Change consists of a permanent dedicated team and a number of indispensable volunteer forces. All make a great, invaluable and professional effort to achieve the organisation's ambitions to break the curve for plastic production and thus plastic pollution.

  • Project : AniMok School Film Festival / Viborg Animation Festival - Human Impact Workshop

In 2019, the Centre has carried out various projects, activities and experiments, to create experiences that can form the basis for the upcoming work on the theme Human Impact.

ANIMOK, VAF’s animation festival and film competition for children and youths in daycare and schools, was a great success with 528 participating pupils in the big school competition. Again, as in years past, ANIMOK invited school classes from preschool class to ninth grade to participate in a film competition with their own animated films. The ANIMOK day also offered workshops on everything from drawing and animation to game design, acting, and much more.

This year’s theme was Human Impact: Inventions for the Future and the school classes produced animated films out of recycled trash of up to two minutes each. The short films were shown in the cinema and judged by a professional jury from the animation industry who assessed the films based on medium, sound, light, animation, and narration.
