We are extremely thrilled to announce that the Centre for Animation, Visualisation and Digital Storytelling at The Animation Workshop/VIA University College is back on the Finance Act under the Danish Ministry of Finance.
The Finance Act CAV receives is a four-year grant of an annual 9,5 mio. DKK from 2022 through 2025. This Finance Act secures and enhances all TAW's activities at the Centre for Animation, Visualisation and Digital Storytelling, which enables us to continue on supporting our animation industry and the Danish society through our knowledge institution.
"The grant will definitely impact the overall production and creation of knowledge that will benefit TAW in general. It will stabilise our position as one of the major hot spots for applied use of animation, visualisation, and digital storytelling and we will be able to take a deeper dive into technological development. As a knowledge institution, you cannot wish for more and I am grateful that we managed to get support across the political landscape. The industry is developing rapidly these years and we will now be able to contribute on a level that is very satisfying," says Kasper Kruse, Head of The Animation Workshop.
"Knowledge, engagement, and the courage to experiment are elements on which we drive research and development at TAW. I am thrilled that we managed to secure this grant, as it is a huge step in strengthening the bridge between research and TAW's educations. It gives us a unique chance to be at the forefront of digital visual artistic and technological development, and deliver cutting-edge research, experience and innovation to students, staff and companies. As the center is building upon industry collaborations and strong partnerships – with the new grant, we are now able to engage on a much larger scale with local, national and international industries," says Jakob Sabra, Head of Research Development & Projects, Centre for Animation, Visualisation and Digital Storytelling.
Thank you to our many supporters who made it possible for CAV to receive the grant in the Finance Act.
