Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme as a Centre of Vocational Excellence, AVENUE brings together five national ecosystems, each with its own specialization in animation (Denmark), games (France), virtual production (The Netherlands), visual storytelling (Ireland), and extended reality (Italy).
This collaboration between vocational training institutions, industry leaders, and innovation hubs responds to the fast-paced technological changes of the creative, visual industries to help students and professionals navigate this changing terrain.
Charting new roads for creative talent
Over the next four years, AVENUE will:
- Conduct ongoing research into industry needs and challenges
- Develop and deliver vocational training—both online and on-site
- Offer open access learning modules for students and professionals across Europe
- Collaborate on developing new curricula.
- Build a knowledge-sharing platform to spread insights and recommendations
The goal is for more than 2,000 professionals, students, and educators to travel this AVENUE(!) and benefit from the training formats, helping to ensure Europe’s creative visual industries remain competitive and future-ready.
TAW with the compass in hand
As project coordinator, The Animation Workshop, VIA University College is proud to lead the way in this collaboration. Together with the strong AVENUE consortium we are setting the course for a more connected, skilled, and resilient creative workforce.
We are currently conducting the industry research to guide our decisions on which courses to develop and offer. This fall, we will launch pilot activities to test our setup. We expect to roll out our first online courses in early 2026, followed by on-site training opportunities later in the year.
Apart from The Animation Workshop, VIA University College, the Danish ecosystem consists of Creative Viborg and industry partners Beyond Horizons and Hydralab.
