In loving memory of Richard Williams (March 19, 1933 – August 16, 2019)

Dear Richard Williams
A heartfelt thank you from all of us at The Animation Workshop. The four times we produced your "Richard Williams Master Class" at the European Film College in Ebeltoft, Denmark between 1996 to 2002, brought us so much knowledge and were instrumental in developing our international network and making TAW what it is today. Both you and your wife Mo Sutton were critical to the success of our early efforts and were a tremendous inspiration - your presence in Denmark empowered The Animation Workshop, and motivated us to believe that we could build something special. For this, we are eternally grateful.

Personally, I had the impression that you were immortal. While you now might have stopped talking to us, your strength, wisdom, humor and overwhelming surplus of warm, human, spirit has given us endless inspiration! The imprint that you made on our lives and minds will last generations, and will be forever visible in the way we have shaped The Animation Workshop in Denmark due to the encouragement and inspiration that we got from working with you.

You will stay forever in our hearts.

Morten Thorning
