VFX Residency

The exclusive VFX Residency programme is kindly supported by Nordisk Film Fonden, and is run at The Animation Workshop / VIA University College under the umbrella of professional residencies.

The VFX Residency is a programme designed for Danish/Nordic artists, technical directors, and film technicians. It provides an opportunity to develop ideas, projects, and VFX-related tools as resident artists.

Are you an aspiring CG/VFX artist looking to complete a personal VFX-related project or a VFX shot? Or perhaps you're interested in testing out tools, software, or anything VFX-related outside of production? If so, this residency is for you.

It's also an excellent fit for employees at a VFX studio who are not currently assigned to production, or for those experimenting with VFX on their own and seeking inspiration from a creative environment.

Please note that the residency is not a course, so there is no formal training provided by an instructor. However, there is the opportunity to meet with an experienced mentor throughout the residency.

The Animation Workshop offers 3-month residency periods, typically accommodating one artist at a time.

The VFX residency offers you:

- A powerful workstation
- Relevant software
- Access to facilities depending on the project
- Accommodation
- Transportation
- Coaching
- A creative, stimulating environment

Application deadline: Open and Ongoing
Residency period: 3 months, in the fall 2024
