What you will learn
In this course, you will spend a week this summer playing with drawing and storytelling.
Through a series of exercises and small projects the teacher will teach you the basic principles of graphic storytelling and challenge you to work with the media in different ways. There will be a mixture of well defined and more free assignments, where you get to work with your own ideas. An introduction to some of the rich world of comics and graphic novels is part of the course.
Time schedule
You will receive a detailed course schedule shortly before the course starts. Except for the first and the second day, there will be six hours of teaching every day. Additionally, on most days there will optional activities in the evenings and afternoons.
Arrival on Monday 30. June: 14:00 (2pm CET)
Departure on Saturday 5. July: 12:30 (pm CET)
Accommodation
We are delighted to provide free accommodation options for all summer course participants at the school.
Participants can choose between:
- Shared Dormitories: Simple, youth camp-style shared dormitories with mixed-gender arrangements. Participants sleep on camping mats or air mattresses in designated large rooms. Please bring your own sleeping bag, mat, or similar equipment.
- Outdoor Tents: For those who enjoy camping in the Summer, there is space to pitch your own tent on the school grounds. Again, please bring your own tent and camping gear.
Showers are available at a nearby sports facility. These include separate gender-specific shower facilities, as well as a private shower available under special circumstances (limited capacity).
We have sufficient space for everyone, but we kindly ask participants to sign up for their preferred accommodation option in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
If you would prefer alternative accommodations, there are several options in town that you can book at your own expense.
(Please see more information about alternative accommodations further below under Housing).
