What you will learn

This course introduces the foundation of 3D computer graphics for use in games and films. The students will get an understanding of modelling, texturing, lighting and rendering. The course is taught in Blender, which becomes more and more used in the animation industry and shares many similarities with Autodesk 3DSMAX and Autodesk Maya.
The course is especially designed for students, who have a beginner to intermediate level in 3D.

Time schedule

You will receive a detailed course schedule shortly before the course starts. Except for the first and the last day, there will be six hours of teaching every day. Additionally, on most days there will optional activities in the evenings and afternoons.

Who can apply?

The summer course is open for anyone over the age of 16. Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a grown-up or have friends or relatives in Viborg or surroundings, where he/she can be accommodated.

How to apply?

The course is first-sign-first-serve so you can sign up as long as there are open seats in the course and the link is available.

We keep a waiting list in case of cancellations, e-mail marp@via.dk if the course is full and you would like us to put your name on the waiting list.

Payment and cancellation

You will be asked to pay for the course when signing up. When signed up, you can cancel your seat and get a full refund of the course fee until one month before the course starts.
Students taking part in TDA courses can sign up with TDA-discount. Please mail MARP@via.dk to sign up with TDA-discount.

Before course start

You will hear from us around a month before the course starts, keep an eye on your email account. We will, among other things, send you a questionnaire regarding practical issues, which we need for our planning so it is important that you respond to it as fast as possible.

Need more information?

  • All summer course participants are offered free accommodation at the school during the course in the following ways:

    • in simple shared dorms, youth camp style: sleeping bags and camping mats/air mattresses on the floor of designated rooms (bring your own equipment)
    • tent outside of the school (bring your own tent and equipment)

    There will be access to showers every morning in a nearby sports facility.

    We have space enough for everyone, but participants are asked to sign up for the dorms and tent spots for us to be able to prepare adequately.

    Participants who prefer a different kind of accommodation are asked to book alternative accommodation in town at their own cost.

    We serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack in the afternoon on all course days, except for the half days. On the first day, we serve dinner in the evening, and on the last day we serve breakfast as well as a sandwich for lunch, which can also be enjoyed on the go if you are busy to catch a train/bus. These meals are included in the course fee. You can choose between mixed and vegan diet.

    Other accommodation options:

  • The course price includes teaching, materials and meals.

    The Animation Workshop/VIA University College (TAW) reserves the right to cancel the course should there not be enough participants.
