  • Structure and content

    Structure and content
In this course, we work with classical drawing with and without a model. We have a very craft based approach to drawing, where anatomy and form are fundamental. We will be working a lot with the drawing of live models, both fast drawings where we practice dynamic, movement, and flow as well as more in-depth model studies with the opportunity for immersion. Apart from that there will be a number of drawing exercises without the use of a live model, which can include both sketching and longer studies. The course is primarily for young people who enjoy drawing. The teacher offers individual feedback based on each person’s level of skills so both beginners and highly skilled artists are welcome.

    Time schedule
You will receive a detailed time schedule shortly before the course starts.

Arrival: Monday, July 5, 1 pm

Departure: Sunday, July 11, 1 pm

Except for the first and the second day, there will be six hours of teaching every day. Additionally, most days there will be optional activities in the evenings and afternoons.

  • How to apply

    Admission criteria
The summer course is open for everyone who turned 16. Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a grown-up or have friends or relatives in Viborg or surroundings, where he/she can be accommodated.

    How to apply

The course is first sign-first serve so you can sign up as long as there are open seats in the course. Your seat is secured as soon as you have paid for it. When the course is full, the sign-up link will disappear from the VIAPAY website that handles the applications. We keep a waiting list in case of cancellations, so please mail if you would like to get signed up on the waiting list. When signed up, you can cancel your seat and get a full refund of the course fee until two weeks before the course starts. You will hear from us around a month before the course starts so please keep an eye on your email account. We will among other things send you a questionnaire regarding practical issues around the course, which we need for our planning so it is important that you respond to it as fast as possible after receiving it.

  • Teachers

All teachers in the summer course are either a teacher, alumni or student of The Animation Workshop and have solid teaching experience.

  • Housing

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we are not sure if we will be able to offer free accommodation in simple dorms in the school or tents on the lawn like previous years. We are optimistic that we will be able to offer some sort of free accommodation in the school at least for some participants, but we will have to wait for new restrictions. We will update the website with new information later. If you would like to book your own alternative accommodation already now, here are some links to various kinds of accommodation in Viborg
