  • Structure and content

    Spend a weekend focusing on fast life drawing and sketching.

    In this course we will focus on fast life drawing as well as sketching in order to practice the dynamics, movement and flow of the drawing. However, there will also be drawing exercises without a model. The approach is inspired by classical drawing, where knowledge about anatomy and form is fundamental. There will also be longer studies with the possibility to go into depth with anatomy etc.

    The teacher will give individual feedback according each students’ skills.

    The Drawing Academy’s weekend courses are open to everyone who wants to train their classical drawing skills - both beginners and more advanced students are welcome.

    Seats are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis. You have to register in the system NemStudie, either with NemID if you live in Denmark or with your e-mail address. When you have registered, your seat is reserved. After the application deadline, you will receive an invoice that has to be paid before the course starts.

    The Animation Workshop/VIA University College (TAW) reserves the right to cancel the course should there not be enough participants or should the restrictions due to COVID-19 make it too difficult to run a physical course.

    Sofia is a visual artist, who studied classical drawing at The Drawing Academy of The Animation Workshop, VIA University College and The Barcelona Academy of Art.

    Practical information about the course.

    Course fee

    The course fee is 210 EUR (1500 DKK).

    The price includes model salary, standard materials (pencil, paper, charcoal), tea, and coffee. If you wish to use other materials, you are of course very welcome to bring these yourself. 


    Accommodation is not included in the fee but Viborg offers several affordable accommodation opportunities. Within walking distance of the school you will find Oasen, Nattely and Klosterpensionen. The latter is located right next to Viborg's old Dome, right in the heart of the city. Other options include Lisely and Danhostel Viborg. You can also take a look at the local tourist agency's list of accommodation.
