    The weekend course takes place at The Animation Workshop's main campus at Kasernevej 5, 8800 Viborg, Denmark

    Fee EU/Non EU Citizens
    The course costs DKK 1.700, or approx. € 230. The price includes teaching, standard materials (paper, pencils etc.), tea and coffee. If you wish to use other materials, you are of course very welcome to bring these yourself.
  • How to apply

    The weekend course is open to everybody who wants to learn more about how to draw for animation. Some drawing experience is an advantage, but not a must. The minimum age is 14 years.

    The Drawing Academy’s weekend courses are open to everyone who wants to train their drawing skills within animation - both beginners and more advanced students are welcome.

    The seats are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis. You have to register in the system NemStudie, either with NemID if you live in Denmark or with your e-mail address. When you have registered, your seat is reserved. After the application deadline, you will receive an invoice that has to be paid before the course starts.

    The Animation Workshop/VIA University College (TAW) reserves the right to cancel the course should there not be enough participants or should the restrictions due to COVID-19 make it too difficult to run a physical course.

  • Structure and content

    Spend a weekend drawing like the animators do
    In this course you will learn basic principles of drawing for animation like acting and gesture drawing. It is an introduction course for you who are considering an education in animation or want to try out animation on your own.

    Character design is not part of the course, so the teacher will be providing characters. However, you are welcome to bring your own characters if you prefer.

    Anne Hoberg Overgaard

    Anne Hoberg Overgaard holds a bachelor in Character Animation from The Animation Workshop/VIA University College. Since she graduated, she has been working as an animator and illustrator creating teaching materials for children, among other things.
