In February 2020, we will once again host a weekend dedicated to World Building. We invite people of various professions to come and create story worlds under the guidance of experienced world building professionals.

  • Structure and content

    You will get the chance to build solid concepts for story worlds in small groups and come up with suggestions on how to use them in terms of storytelling, interaction, and product.

    The weekend is just as much an introduction to a narrative tool as an opportunity to play around so no previous experience in building worlds is required. No matter your background, you are welcome to come and spend a weekend playing with World Building.

  • How to apply

    There are 30 seats available. If we receive more than 30 applications, we reserve the right to make a selection based on our goal of creating a diverse group of participants.

    Application process

    In order to apply for the World Building weekend, please send an email to titled “World Building Weekend”. The email should include name, age, current occupation, a brief summary of your educational background and/or work experience, and a link to your online portfolio (if you don't have one, no problem!)

    Application is open until January 31, 2020. Shortly after the deadline, we will select the participants. If you are selected, you will receive an e-mail with a link to a payment formula. Participants who are not selected will also be notified.

    Only participants who paid before the beginning of the workshop can participate.

    Anders Rauff

    Game and Universe Designer

    Since 2006, Anders Rauff has worked as a game designer, world-builder, and fiction author. His previous projects include the trading card game "Chaotic" and a large-scale fantasy game called "Noorhjem". Anders currently works at Funday Factory.

    Concept Developer

    Martin Rauff works in an area shaped by the intersections of play, concept/IP-development, and narrative. He has been the driving force behind a diverse group of projects ranging from TV-broadcasts and games, books, albums, museum exhibitions, and large-scale events.

  • Practical information

    Practical information about the weekend course.


    All meals on Saturday and Sunday are included in the course fee.


    We will provide a basic supply of drawing and writing materials like ink, water colors, and standard paper. Aside from this, participants are asked to bring their own materials.

    Those who are able to bring their own computers are encouraged to do so. We will also have a few computers available for groups to use.
