Step 2: Prepare your portfolio

The portfolio is your chance to show your skills and creative abilities. We are looking for applicants who are able to showcase a broad understanding of the relevant skills and have a mindset for learning new ways of expressing themselves throughout their years of study.

Content, formatting and templates

Incomplete or incorrectly formatted portfolios will NOT be accepted.

Please use the portfolio template for Character Animation, Computer Graphic Arts, and Graphic Storytelling:

The template above will help you make sure your portfolio is in the right format and order.

Content

Your portfolio must contain:

  • A filled in official cover letter
  • An active link to your video introduction
  • Examples of your work fulfilling the requirements for the programme
  • A portfolio structured in the same order as the listed requirements
(If you prefer not to use the templates, you are free to design your own portfolio layout, but you must still include a header on each page stating your name and which portfolio category the image(s) on the page belong to.)

Formatting

Your portfolio must:

  • be submitted in one single PDF-file (max 99,9 mb)
  • use the right naming convention for PDF upload: PortfolioYear_(FullName)_(Programme) eg. Portfolio2024_MickeyMouse_CGArts

Quality

To the extent your chosen software allows you to customize the quality of your exported pdf, please set image compression quality to 100% and image resolution to 125 dpi. This is not a requirement, but the better the image quality is (within the overall 100 mb file limit), the better our ability to appreciate your artwork will be.

Please double check that the art in your portfolio pdf is not pixelated or overly compressed – that it looks as good in the pdf as it did in Photoshop/ProCreate/etc. – before submitting it on Optagelse.dk.

Evaluation criteria

We evaluate the portfolio based on our admission criteria:

  • Your ability to understand and comply with the portfolio requirements
  • Your skill level in the categories relevant to the course in question
  • Your style, taste and creative vision as expressed in the portfolio
  • Your ability to curate and present your material in a clear, compelling way
